When you have that pig's cavity facing up during the cooking process , drizzle a quart of dark cane syrup all over him . Make a nice touch.

hell no still have to keep up with the fire, drink, i flip my hog in a microwave too all while watching a game or 3.

And I agree with Martini, that's what I dislike most about it, I can't watch it and don't want to lift the top too often.

the one i have has a door to check on things, and a grill that slides out of it that i can flip the hog like that if i'm by myself or don't want to take the top off.

buddy of mine does it each year for the arky game ... digs a shallow pit, builds up a 4 wall pit with blocks and uses 2 sides of mesh wiring to hold the pig ... used burlap sacks (or something - can't remember) to cover the pig while it cooks all day ... preps it the night before or real early the morning of ... it's not too technical, but it is a lot of work since you have to build the pit, check it all day, prep it the night before, etc ...

like the rotisserie, though ...
