I dislike everything about the secondary market. It has become a ridiculous joke. At its worst, it is driven by greed and profiteering. I think any activity that takes bottles off of retail shelves and inserts them into that system is contributing to the problem. But that's just my opinion. One bottle or a dozen, trade or sell, it's all the same to me. I wish it would stop.

Maybe so, but stalking stores and then turning around and putting the bottles on facebook is going to get you that label from alot of people.

Is there a popular bourbon/whiskey trading group?

you said it "laid low"
why the hell did you fill the need to lay low anyway?
I'm pretty sure it was that stink of that dorsal fin you have, put it in a bunker for later or have a pour but don't be part of the problem where i have to settle for "Weller 12, Eagle Rare 10, Blanton's, and EH Taylor Single Barrel"

I was added to couple and have no plans to sell, though it is amazing the prices they get for some of those bottles. It is also interesting to see 30 year old bottles pop up.

Who are you to tell me what to do with the bottles that I buy? I've already said that I traded the 2 Cured Oaks + $100 for a Pappy 20. I think most of the whiskey brethren on this board would agree that is a good trade. I am sorry if that doesn't meet with your approval but I happen to want a Pappy 20 as I didn't get one this Fall. If you would do something different then get out there and out hustle me and outsmart me and get the bottles that I am getting. You see that way you can do what you want with those bottles. Until that day, I would appreciate you respecting my right to do as I please with the bottles that I purchase.

Again, it's your right to do whatever you want with the bottles you buy. Just remember that most of the people on this board aren't real fond of that type of activity and you will probably catch some shite for playing both sides. You want to post in the local "enthusiasts" thread and show pictures of all your limited bottles but then you want to do the facebook thing. Cant be surprised when the people in the thread get mad for flipping local shite that they have never even tasted.

I confronted you about the bottle of Rye 6 months ago or whatever and you told me what was up, etc etc... But expect to get shite from the whole board when there is a massive stir about a certain bottle and that day you've got 2 of them on facebook.

You gotta remember, just like you dont care about what anyone else thinks, no one cares you didnt get a pappy 20 this year.

Understood G. I am a Bourbon enthusiast. I have been one for a long time. I've only sold one bottle for monetary gain and that was for Christmas cash during a bad time last year. Then I trade a couple of Cured Oaks for a Pappy 20 and I am villainized? It is what it is I guess.

Why? Do you work there as a stock boy?

Oh and I would appreciate it if you would remove my proper name from your post a few pages back. Thanks!

I don't really care one way or the other with what people do with the special bottles they get. There is plenty of readily available bourbon that tastes excellent.
Having said that I was really surprised that a guy was able to buy 10 bottles of Cured Oak at one store. I would not have thought any one store received 10 bottles. You would also have thought if you did find 10 bottles you could have also gotten one of the boxes they came in. And maybe he did get the box and it just was not in the picture I saw.

OK Lee Harvey. YOU...Are a mad man

I will throw an olive branch out. I know it's not Pappy or BTAC but I have an extra ECBP (latest release) that I will let go at my retail cost to the first person who wants it and e-mails me at jflsufan@gmail.com Must be able to pick up in BR though.
