Rowan's Creek ($40). Also picked up Noah Mill ($45). Anyone have any experience with the Noah Mill?

Both have been talked about extensively in this thread. Neither of those are in my rotation. Both are non-distilling producers that purchase whiskey from unknown sources. It gets put in a bottle with a fancy looking label and a premium is charged. Some people like them ok but they arent regarded any where near the distillery brands in that price range.

Good information. Thanks. I have a couple of go to bourbons, but I typically will ask around for suggestions to try something new. I don't typically give thought to whether or not it is non-distilled.

During the previous boring weekend, I read a couple hundred of the pages of this thread.

Inspiring, I tell you.

I pretty much drink too much beer, pretty much all the time. Somehow, some way, I need to lose a few pounds, or at least, not gain more. We'll see.

Yesterday, my first "real" bourbon purchase. Well, I've drank plenty Beam and diet coke in and around Tiger Stadium...

Better reason to drink them quickly and buy something different.

that's the spirit! hey, you may like them. there are active posters in this thread that like both, but they are in the minority.

I have a bottle of the above mentioned Four Roses, so all is not lost if my purchases don't agree with my palette.

Well... on to my bourbon voyage,

I decided to try the 4 Roses first.

Tried a couple sips neat, then with an ice cube... little too much for me. Added a little water, and very drinkable...

I'll go from there.
