Yes it does... I saw that bottle waiting for you in her box. I got a 17 there. They are trying to get their whiskey selection up to snuff..

Pappy/BTAC has pretty much come and gone in BR. There may be a few bottles here and there but the lion share is gone

Iike how you hide the er17 so it's not as tempting to grab and pour. Nothing to see here but in opened bottles...move along

Yeah, I got lucky by getting there right when she found out. Yes, they are really stepping up their game, and open to suggestions. Just need the customers for more volume. Great deal for everyone, as they usually have lowest markup.
I buy all my beer and liquor there now, so in there a few times a week, haha

haha that was last nights casualty. one of the Staggs is getting the same treatment tonight.

I've got one more bottle waiting that I haven't picked up yet. With that and the Van Winkle I've got in Knoxville that will be here next week and the 2 4Roses SmB LE I picked up I think my fall release hunt was a success.

A little off topic, but i figured if anyone would know you guys would. I was reading up on Buffalo Trace Distillery and noticed that all of the previous distillers/master craftsman all have a bourbon named after them (E.H. Taylor, Stagg, Blanton, Elmer T. Lee) except Orville Schupp, anyone know any reason as to why? He obviously was heavily involved, here is his bio from Buffalo Trace's website:

Orville Schupp did a little bit of everything in his lifetime. Like many of the legendary craftsmen before him, Orville was active in the development of not only the Distillery, but the surrounding community as well.

After obtaining his electrical engineering degree from Purdue University in 1931, Orville embarked on an early career of electrical inspection, design and construction. It wasn’t until his arrival as a maintenance engineer at George T. Stagg Co. in 1939 that Orville got his start in distilling. Orville became the protégé of Col. Albert Blanton, who headed the Distillery. He eventually was promoted to supervising engineer, then plant manager when Col. Blanton retired. During his tenure as plant manager, the Distillery was the area’s second largest employer after the state government.

Orville left his position at the Distillery in 1957 to work as an area manager and eventual president of Schenley Distillers Inc., the ownership of the Distillery at the time. Responsible for both domestic and international operations for Schenley, Orville led operations for Ancient Age, Old Stag, Dewar’s Scotch and I.W. Bernheim brands, among others.

Orville returned to Frankfort in 1970 and took on a new venture of real estate development. He was instrumental in securing land for Juniper Hill Park, Frankfort’s largest recreational complex complete with a golf course, tennis courts, Olympic swimming pool and recreational areas. Orville was also a founding member and first president of the Frankfort Country Club.

Sorry so long. I have become a little fascinated with BT lately since so many of their bourbons are so good that i have had and from hearing y'all talk about how great the ones i haven't had yet.

Sounds like he was less involved in bourbon through the course of his life than alot of the other guys. Alot of them dedicated their lives to it

Anybody have any other spots in New Orleans that I can spend money and make my face/name known besides Martins and Dorignacs? Neither seem to give a crap about my business to want to even entertain discussing select releases with me? Looking for advice as I have only been getting into bourbon for about 2 years now.

Those are the only places im familiar with in nola and they both suck. Same for martins here in BR. They told me earlier in the week that if I was there when the truck got there I would be able to get a Stagg or er17. Got there when the truck did and they hauled arse in the back with the boxes and only offered me a Handy. Im not a regular at Martins so I couldnt get too upset. Just said no thanks and left

Sorry, I get childish thoughts every time I see this and had to get it out.

I wish I could find a good store not named specs here in Houston. A) it's impossible to get to that friendly first name basis with a chain so big and B) the people helping you haven't heard of some of the bottles I'm looking for. I asked the guy if they got any BTAC bottles in and he looked at me like I was on drugs (which I think he was). I spelled out the acronym and he points me to the regular buffalo trace.

Haha same thing happened to me a few weeks ago at Dorignacs. I said "no, like Stagg, Handy, ER17". And he said "Oh yeah we have alot of the ER 17". And proceeding to grab a bottle of ER10 and hand it to me.

gmrkr5 and Lloyd Christmas do y'all mind saying which store it is your referencing? If you want to keep to yourself i understand but if you want the place to have more business maybe i could help. You should know that i am not a threat for the high end bourbons but would like to try some i haven't tried.

I think I just struck oil. Went into this little spot by my house for a shits and giggles last attempt. They said they were getting a case of pvw 15 or 20 on Wednesday and that they will hold a bottle for me. Sounds too good to be true, but I'll update Wednesday and get as much as I can if anyone wants to trade or buy.
