I just picked up a bottle of the Barrell Batch 011 without trying it, which was a bit of a risk considering the $90 price tag. I had read lots of good things about the Barrell Bourbons and this particular Batch even won bourbon of the year at the SF World Spirits Competition. Breaking Bourbon even gave it high marks, and I tend to agree with most of their reviews. However, I'm not too impressed with it on my first few pours--lots of flavor, but it really seems like it needs to open up. I'm going to let it decant for a few days and then give it another try.

If I remember right it's a blend, I didn't taste any #1 think it had a lot of mixed reviews, maybe they got this one right

Did you notice the owners? They are trying to do to whiskey what they did to country music and bottled at 70 proof, they should have put it a 50 proof, it would have been even smoother...
