I actually got a bottle this time. I hadn't had one since the first and it was sink worthy. I have heard some of the other batches are much better so I decided to get one. Haven't had it yet tho.

I have 2 bottles of Stagg Jr. they are both more recent batches. I tried one and it was pretty good. I think the first batch or two were not up to snuff. The trend is that the last few have been much better.

Red White and Bourbon take on Stagg Jr.

They have gotten better over time. (Thought they kinda had to since batch 1 tasted like gasoline.)

For my money though I'll be continue to stock up on EHT BP as it is what Stagg Jr should have been from the start.

Had a pour of Stagg Jr. at Mansur's fairly recently and it was fantastic. No idea which batch it was.

FPD is an ORVW 10.

qoute "1PD HW Campfire "

How is that Campfire,? Thinking about grabbing a bottle, seems interesting blend of peated scotch and bourbon.

Pretty intense when u first open it. Mine has been decanting for a while and has mellowed. I like it a lot in the wintertime.

Tell me about Booker's.

Saw two different versions yesterday. One in a smooth light poplar box, the other was in a stained rustic box that I have typically seen. Never tried Booker's and want to get some insight before pulling the trigger, is there a difference in these two.

Went with a Colonel Taylor Single barrel instead.
TIA

I thought all the boxes were the same. Cant say i recall seeing this "poplar" box. Even the limited editions came in the standard box. We they both the same price?

Same spot on the shelf, same price on both boxes. Bottles looked to have the same large label on them, no indication of anything special with either of them. The smaller "batch" labels were different looking. The lighter box had a XX-XX number designation on it that the darker one didn't have.

Looked like the box in this review? Guess it's just a different box they did a few years ago...

The lighter color box is just the standard box that all Booker's use to come in. The boxes became a darker color around the time that 25th was released.
