Where to have my 30th?

So the wife is looking for a place to rent for my 30th birthday in late January. She's been thinking maybe a local brewery like Nola or possibly a bar such as Bulldog. It would only be about 30 people so the place doesn't have to be big. I come here looking for suggestions and experiences anyone has had with private parties in the New Orleans area. I'd prefer not the quarter but I'm willing to give it a shot for a good beer selection. Thanks in advance

It seems that NOLA Brewery would be fun. Not sure how the uptown Bulldog would work with something like that as they don't have a private area.
Bulldog midcity has a little area in the back patio that would be nice.
The party rental area above Lucy's was fun for an event I attended.
I have to think there aren't a great deal of places with good beer selection to host private parties.

With carnival in full swing and late January just a few weeks away, this is going to be difficult. Do you have to rent a place out or can you just go somewhere.

I know Mardi Gras season is going to make this difficult, story of having a birthday the first week of February. I'm still not sure I need to rent anywhere, but I'm just trying to explore some options. I'm going to look into some of the micro breweries opening up and see the options.

Get a party bus and go hit up a few different places. It's trashy, but it can be fun.

This would be cool for a beer crawl of some kind finishing with a dinner.
Go to Nola brewery, couryard brewery, Ave. pub, etc and then maybe a private area somewhere for a dinner, etc.
Alot of this plan is going to depend on how much you want to spend and how much you care about the food.

That's exactly what I had in mind. Maybe give the bars a courtesy call to let them know you're bringing in a group.

Ive attended "private" parties at Rusty Nail, Bulldog Midcity, F&Ms and upstairs at Lucy's --- all are solid recs.
