Headed down for a few days of beach house, football watching, relaxation. Should I just plan to bring a sack from Tony's, or is there somewhere local I can get a sack? Or fresh shucked oysters. I know they have a Rouses there, but would rather buy some fresh. This will be on Saturday morning, not sure if their "farmers" market would have seafood.

The seafood vendors on the east side of the Pass Christian harbor. There are probably many other places along the coast but this one is close to my house, so it's the only one I go to.

The harbor next to hard rock casino always has shrimp boats lined up selling shrimp in the mornings. Not sure about oysters though.

Pick them up at Crystal Seas on your way there.

They have fresh shucked and boxes of in-shell that are cleaned and sorted. The boxes are the best quality oysters around. We get them at least a couple times a year and feast.

If you want to grab them in Biloxi, Quality Seafood on Division at Caillavet may have sacks, boxes and/or shucked. Same with Desporte's on Division at Porter. If you're passing through the Pass on the way, follow Gaston's advice--they're usually the most dependable oyster wholesaler for most of the Coast seafood markets.

Thanks for all of the replies. Was hoping to be able to buy them fresh off a boat or fisherman. But I dont even know if they fish oysters out that way.
Whats the deal with Crystal Seas? Looks kindof high class, but the website only streamed pictures, no info. Are these high dollar oysters or local caught?
I also wondered if their Saturday "market" had any seafood available.

Crystal Seas def isn't high class, just regular old dealers. They source from LA, TX, and MS--whoever on the GC that is able at the time to provide oysters based on state regulatory season times. I've also had AL oysters from Quality when LA & MS beds were temporarily shut down. Pass harbor oystermen may be hit or miss with supply, but it wouldn't hurt to check them out.

CSs sells boxes, which are clean...select if you will...oysters. 100 or so for $40. Not sack oysters. All 100, or 35lbs, will be perfect. In that, they are not top quality oysters from name brand beds. I absolutely believe they are a better product than off the boat oysters and we pay for that difference regularly. TIFWW.
