I like them strong and simple Ham. 3 parts silver tequila, 2 parts fresh squeezed lime juice, 1 part Cointreau--on the rocks.

i've posted it a couple times but we've been killing the habanero margaritas this summer

1.5 oz silver tequila
1.0 oz triple sec
0.5 oz lime juice
0.5 oz pineapple
1 tsp habanero infused tequila (which is made by cutting 10 habaneros in half and putting them in a container filled with a fifth of silver tequila for 24 hours. that stuff is potent and you don't want to put more than a tsp in there. you can store it forever)

shake then pour over ice.

1.5 ounces tequila, 0.5 ounces Cointreau, 0.5 ounces fresh-squeezed lime juice, 0.5 ounces Presidente brandy, 2-3 ounces sweet and sour mix. Stir with ice. Strain to cocktail glass.

The brandy makes an excellent contribution. Originally got the idea from Chili's "Presidente" margarita.

Thanks to our Texas brethren for this inspiration: substitute orange juice for the citrus component.

Protip: add a splash of olive juice (a-k-a olive brine), shake with ice and strain into an iced glass for a Mexican Martini.

So smooth.

Exact same for me. If I'm feeling cheap and don't have it, I'll do a splash of OJ in the place of Cointreau.

That's a LOT of lime juice. Too much for me.

Too much sugar for me. I never put syrup/sugar in my ritas.

Stirrings is an excellent substitute for Cointreau. I tend to do:
2 oz Silver agave, Republic organic is my favorite, I was into pepper infused tequila the last two years but moved on
2 oz of lime or lime/lemon if limes suck
1.5 oz of Cointreau or Stirrings

Also like roasting blueberries, adding fresh basil, then puree and freeze to use in margaritas. Sometimes add a little club soda to margarita in hot weather, little more refreshing.

The Deep Eddy vodka is good, too. Only tried the cranberry but very nice with some club soda and lime. Trying grapefruit next bottle.
