What's your cobbler dough recipe?

My daughter has requested a cobbler tonight and I'm needing a dough recipe. It seems there are two basic recipes. A wet dough that your pour into a greased pan, add fruit and bake, or more of a rolled out pie crust type added to the top of the fruit. Any ideas appreciated.

I don't have a recipe or make desserts, but my preference is more of a very flaky pie crust dough, top and bottom crust, though I could eat one with a top puff pastry crust and be happy.

I always use the simple cup/cup/cup for my dough. One cup of sugar, flour, and milk.

Maybe I am just poor old white trash, but I like cake mix cobbler something fierce.

I was coming in here hot with that. I dump a box of cake mix in a pan, dump a few cans of peaches on top of that, dump another box of cake mix on top of that, then cut up butter on top of that, then bake.
Something happens in the oven that, frankly, I don't understand, and it turns out majestic.

pie crust type here. Layer of fruit/ layer of browned crust/ layer of fruit / layer of browned crust as many times as you need....always ending with crust on top

Coasted with this for years! ??Surprisingly good and simple. Family thought I slaved making homemade cobblers until one day I got drunk and forgot to dispose of the empty bag before they got home. ????
