Spare ribs. Was not gonna do anything much but saw a rack of full spares on manager special for $6. Smithfield brand which I never buy. Was gonna cook the whole slab but the meat on the edges was super thin. So trimmed to St. Louis style no point in cooking stuff that is gonna burn up.

We did them for a while. I like them but making your own dough is a must. Most of the store bought ones I’ve tried weren’t good.

Most of the Neopalitan styles call for the dough to rise for 24 hours beforehand. There’s a few that you can let rise for an hour.

Some sort of crawfish and shrimp pasta salad. I picked up some mushrooms, artichokes, green onion and corn, and figured I would wing the rest of it with pantry ingredients. Kids are having wings from Sam’s and waffle fries.

Let’s post some pics today. My liquid day is moving along nicely.

What image hosting site y’all use these days? I been away from posting on here for a while and stuff I used is toast. Tried Imgur but it sucks

The smokies on the left are done. The two to the right will be ready about an hour before kickoff. Smokies may not make it much longer.

Always gumbo weather if you turn the AC low enough! It was 90 degrees here today.

Funny about the weather, I kinda have a hard time eating hot soups n the summer too…. Didn’t feel well a couple days this week and was told to make some chicken noodle soup. I did. Wasn’t good. Thawed a vac packed bowl of chicken n sausage gumbo the next day sans the noodle. Was much better!

I am canning white beans.

I followed this recipe down to the measurements. The only thing I did different was use Great Northern White Beans because I had them and not red kidney beans.

Had 2lbs frozen shrimp so decided on a shrimp etouffee. Went and bought a pound of crawfish tails to throw in for good measure. Fried half the shrimp. Canebrake on the side.
