Roast beef poboy. One of the best I've ever had. They make it messy with a lot of gravy just how it's supposed to be.

All good food recs IMO. Beer list is great. It has become my go-to place when I am back in BR (Chimes East for convenience, but would gladly go to the Highland location)

Where do you people get this? Not overpriced at all, especially considering most of them are 20oz beers.

I'll admit, sometimes I get a little sticker shock when I see the prices, then I remind myself I'm essentially getting a 20oz our. Price is very fair compared to buying a 220z bomber of the stuff. That's how I rationalize it.

I ordered it when they first added it to the menu a few years ago, and it was just fried shrimp. I was expecting something totally different. I'll admit, they probably went REALLY easy on the sauce and that's why it tasted like plain fried shrimp, but I've been too afraid to try it again since then.

Does the food at Highland taste the same as the food at East?

I agree with this. It is a total mess and my mouth is watering right now thinking about it.

Raw oysters, boudin balls are some other items for me.

Beer is not overpriced and they have a good selection.

Yup, you have to get it drenched. The sauce is what makes it. I dont get the "BBQ" thing as its not a tangy or sweet/sour BBQ sauce like you would initially assume. It's just a solid sauce.

Is it not New Orleans style BBQ?

(You realize BBQ shrimp isn't really BBQ sauce.. )

Yes, I do realize that. When you hear BBQ, your mind automatically assumes bbq sauce. I know the Nola style isnt like a bbq sauce but what I meant by that was that some people may refrain from ordering the shrimp drenched in sauce thinking it was a true BBQ sauce and not a Nola style sauce.

I've been eating at the Chimes since 1990 and I don't think I've ever had anything bad there. Good burgers, good fried seafood poboys, boudin balls are money.
And I've always thought the beer prices were cheap. They have a couple of happy hours during the day. I remember going one Saturday afternoon a few years ago, drinking a few pints and being amazed at how low the bill was.

The chargilled oysters are way better at Chimes East than Chimes Highland.
