What do you cook you're chili in

Was cooking a big chili for Mardi Gras but my biggest pot is 5 gallon black iron. Can I cook one in a black iron pot

Some people say that all the tomatoes will give things in a black pot a metallic taste. That's why I always do chili and gumbo is a stainless pot.

I always do mine in a porcelain clad cast iron Dutch oven. I cooked about 6 lb of chili in mine the other day and could of had room for more.

I use black iron for almost every thing including chill and tomato sauce with no problems.

I have before, I rather cook it in a Magnalite pot though. You can also batch it out in a few of those electric roasters that every goose coonass woman has.

I only use a black pot. I've never had a complaint
