Going to this bar today that only serves high gravitys, high end and local draft. No mainstream beers.

What should I get? Recently Ive enjoyed Rochefort 10.

We are probably going to need a little more information than that? Menu perhaps?

Buy everybody a beer and say "beers are on the island!"

OR

Walk in between a dude and his urinal and say "Island's in the stream!"

OR

Stand up and say "No man is an Island? bullshite!"

That would be awesome.

If you are a "mainstream" beer drinker, the Bells Amber on tap is probably a good one to start with. It's a good middle of the road beer.

I'd certainly get a Founder's Centennial

First, find out what they have on cask. They rotate stuff on their 3 casks, and it's always good stuff.

But from the menu, the first 2 that pop out for me are the Great Divide Espresso Oak Yeti (an imperial stout) and the Avery Reverend (Belgian-style quad along the lines of Rochefort 10).

You cannot go wrong at The J. Clyde though.

You going to see Phish tonight?

I'd start with the Espresso Oak Yeti. Man, I think I'd die if a place around here had that on tap. Under their What's New menu I see they have Rogue's Daddy's Little Helper and Jolly Pumpkin La Parcela; I've never tried the latter, so I'd make that the #2 before going to the former. After that, I'd probably just chat up the bartender and see if he/she had any recommendations. If you get a good bartender who knows their beers (I'd expect that place to have someone like that), they can be your best asset.

The J. Clyde does have knowledgeable bartenders, I can tell you that.

J Clyde is one of a few bright spots for the City of Birmingham. Get whatever they have on cask 1st. Perhaps they will be running a beer through their randle. Anything on draft after that. The foot there is pretty good too.
