Turkey breasts are easy to smoke, and they take much less time than a brisket or pork shoulder.

I was coming to post turkey. Only way I cook them since I did my first one. The carcass makes a great stock for gumbo or soup as well

The best Turkey I've ever had was injected and smoked. Thing was Swayze 2 minutes after slicing.

Boston Butt. It's difficult to screw up.

quote:Not arguing this point, time factor is the main concern. Since LSU-Bama game is 7:00PM start, this shouldn't be that big an issue unless smoking for a tailgate. Unless OP has electric smoker a Boston Butt will require some maintenance to regulate temperature in smoker.

brisket if you've got the time and want to fool with tending the fire. Costco has the cheapest price on brisket and its a great quality brisket.
whatever you do, don't over think it.
