Afterwards, we walked next door to steel city pops ("craft" popcicles). I tried a pineapple jalapeño bar and a raspberry lemon bar. Everything was made with fresh local ingredients. They were pretty damn delicious. Better than a snoball

How much they charge for these "craft popsicles?"
If it's under $2 I'll let is pass.

This time of the year I enjoy cooking vegetables right out of the field. I cut up some hickory smoked sausage and browned it in bacon grease. Added 1 finely chopped onion, cut up 1 small red potato, 3 bell peppers and 1 yellow squash all cut in big pieces, about 8 pods of cut okra, salt, pepper, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, italian seasoning, and Frere Jeans cajun seasoning. When cooked added very little italian bread crumbs and parmesan cheese and let cook for about 1 more minute. 10" iron pan was completely full. Thought I would have enough for leftovers. Nope...ate it all.

2.50 but they were more bars than the thin Popsicle brand popcicles.
They had about 15 flavors on the regular side and another 8 or so on the creamy side.
Flavors like avocado, chocolate chili, cucumber lime, peach.
They also have four or five carts that set up around the city. I enjoyed it, I spoke with the owner and he seemed like a good guy. happy to support a small business
Small detour: is squeal BBQ in nola worth a shite? I really want to try that pulled pork shepards pie( saw it on some cooking channel show)

Nothing wrong with that
Just think $2.50 is a little high. It's a damn popsicle.

I don't particularly care for it. It's not terrible, just haven't gone out of my way to go back after having it once. Give it a shot though. I didn't have the pulled pork shepards pie, and it sounds like a good idea.

Fresh caught wahoo I marinated in jerk seasoning and pan sautéed. I Made a mango and pineapple chutney w/ lots of ginger and cinnamon. Fresh jalapeños from the garden to spice it up. Drinking an Ommegang Abbey Ale!
