Honestly, my only real knock on the place is that the steaks are too big. Don't get me wrong, I like to shovel meat into my face...but I hate leaving a place feeling like I'm about to die from over consumption.

Yes, I know doggie bags exist, but that's not my style

That's really the thing that prevents me from going back regularly. The steaks are just too big. Comically big. And I know they are supposed to be shared, but sometimes you want a certain cut of meat and your wife/gf wants another.

Doe's encourages sharing, so they should present the steak already cut from the bone (with the bone still on the plate of course) to make it easy for two to share.

Watching my friend try to cut up the porterhouse to split with my other friend was tough to watch at our small table.

don't believe for a single minute that they managed to turn a 20+ ounce piece of meat into well done after you ordered MR. Not once, but 3 different times.

The original one does that. I'm guessing you could get them to do so in BR.

The only times I've had my steak cooked improperly at Doe's it's because it was undercooked... I've never had them overcook a cut of the meat. I have sent one back before though because it was on the Pittsburgh side of rare and I ordered medium rare.

The salad is boring, but I always enjoy the drop biscuits and usually the fries are perfectly fine.

They also have the best restaurant week value in town... I try not to miss it.

That ain't my style. I'm paying for it and I want the pleasure of cutting the son of a bitch myself. Mecca ain't New York City...

it's better.

Went to Doe's last Friday night and enjoyed as always. Got the porterhouse and destroyed it by myself like a good fatty. I love their Old Fashioned cocktail... might be the best I've ever had.

Ok. It happened, but I don't really care if you believe me or not.

Just curious, why you would return not once but TWICE after the initial problem occurred, and not only that, but you ordered the exact same thing both times you returned (?)

Dear Mom and Dad,

The Army is way harder than I thought, but Sarge says I might make a soldier yet if I can get my candy arse through the obstacle course in less than 15 minutes.

My bunk-mate is from New Jersey, and he talks funny. He says I'm the one who talks funny. Ha.

We got a night of leave last weekend, which leads to the reason I am writing this letter. We went to a nice restaurant with tablecloths and pretty waitresses. Let me tell you, I had the best salad ever. Crisp green lettuce, croutons, tomatoes, cucumbers, and something they called ranch dressing. I don't know what it has to do with ranching, but it's the best.

Tell everyone I said hey,

Man, on the fries. Maybe it's a Little Rock thing, but the one here soaks the fries in the drippings from the steak and they are awesome. Plates look nothing like the one posted earlier in this thread

Well, the second time I was giving it another chance. The third was with friends. I guess I thought I'd give it one last shot the third time.

Haven't eaten there in a couple years. Of the 3 times I went, they turned my medium rare porterhouse into well done shoe leather every time. Swore I'd never go back.

I go for lunch every now and then and like it but all I'll eat is a steak since it's big enough. Never seem to get there for dinner.

And I think this is a good letter as well.

Idk man... I just d k. These guys cook hundreds of steaks a day. They're pretty good at it. But they managed to overcook your MR 20+ ounce steak by 3 full temperature classifications - not once, but three times in a row? You understand that's a difference in prep time of about 15 minutes.

Surely you can understand why we're hesitant to believe that.
