Bump this thread

I had this burger today and I was extremely pleased!

One of the best fast food burgers around. blows McD and BK out the water!

I'm a little bummed about this. I mean, it's not the best burger I've had, but it's certainly the best fast food chain burger I've ever had. And are they really stopping the square paddies? That's Wendy's trademark. Hopefully their burgers still blow all the other big chains out of the water, since BK, McD, Jack in the Box, Hardees, and Checkers all blow.

I rarely eat FF burgers, but last time I tried Wendy's it was nothing like this.. Dry as crap.

Wendy's is probably one of the most inconsistent restaurants in the fast food business. Oxford for instance has two Wendy': one on Jackson (the most busy street in Oxford) and the other one is two miles outside of town and is surrounded by nothing. The one on Jackson blows dick and has ridiculously shitty fries and dry, often burnt burgers. The one outside of town fricking rocks though. Really ridiculously wet and greasy burgers that taste awesome. There's a reason this Wendy's in the middle of bumfrick has continued to survive. Only 5 minutes away from where I used to live, so I hit it up often when I wanted to get something good and fast.

Yeah, it's hard to imagine this is a 'well it ain't broke, but we're gonna go ahead and try to fix this (an entirely new hamburger?) anyway' type situation

Agreed. Their burgers were clearly better than McD and BK. It's not like Dominos that everyone agreed tasted like shite and really had to redo everything.

Went to Wendy's tonight to try the new burger. I thought it was much better than before. The pattie was better, the bacon thicker, the pickles were tastier. I'll definitely be back.

Disagree with you there. I think flame broiled is 1000000000% better than any of the other chains. Yes the fries suck and the stores are run by cavemen level of competence but the burger tastes better to me.

Flame broiled for the win.

I agree that there are parts of the whopper that are better, but I think as a whole, the new Wendy's burger is a better one. The level of service plays a LARGE part in my opinion. Last time I went to burger king, they were PAINFULLY slow. And I rarely ever have to wait at my neighborhood Wendy's.

I hadn't eaten a fast food burger in at least 2 years until tonight, when I decided to try the new Wendy's burger since they have a location next to my apartment building. It was better than I remembered Wendy's but still pretty terrible. My main takeaway from this was a reminder of why I stopped eating fast food burgers in the first place.

Crazy talk. Not sure how you can taste that burger beneath all of that mustard they dump on there. Without the mustard it is just the standard bland burger unless things have changed dramatically since I lived in Austin.

I had a quarter from McDs a couple months ago and it was almost repulsive. I thought the Wendy's burger was pretty good compared to the other fast food burgers

McDonalds really does have the worst burger. If not for those crack fries the chain would die off pretty fast.

I know they have tried different burgers over the years but I can't believe they haven't changed the cooking process or seasoning because those things are at the very bottom of the list. I can stomach them but I have never once in my life thought, I really want a McDonals burger.

I've gone out of convenience or because I wanted the fries. Never for the worthless burger.

I don't understand why no other chain has tried to steal the McDs fry.

Most other burger places seem to place no value in making the fries better and it is clear from McDs dominance that the damn fry can be the big draw.

The fries and those tasty shakes that can't be sucked through a straw for the first 30 minutes or else your head will implode.

What a marketing plan- our main menu item is going to suck, but we'll keep people coming back with our tasty fries and shakes! GENIUS!!!!

McDonalds fries are hit and miss at best, and when they hit, they're not that good, even as fast food fries go.

Agree. I never go through the drive thru because they are the most likely to screw it up.

Hardees has the best burger and they USED to have the best fries.

Bastards got rid of seasoned curly fries!

BK is bad too.

I don't get the hate for any of these burgers, including McDonalds. They are all nearly the same to me.
