Ok, so the wife and I are going to Vegas next month for our 10 Yr Anniversary. Does anyone have any good recommendations for a nice romantic place that has great food. I'm not overly concerned about price...but nothing off the wall either. Open for all types of cuisine. We are not going until the end of July, but want to find somewhere soon in case I need to make reservations. What say you??

If you like French I would suggest either Bouchon or Fleur de Lys.

Went to Bartolotta in the Wynn Wed. nite. It's Italian Seafood and was outstanding. Try to get a table in one of the cabana's by the reflection pool. Got the multi-course tasting menu which was great. Also had some very very fresh sushi also in the Wynn hotel at Okada last Sunday. The robatoyaki was so so but the nigiri was some of the best that I've had. Supposedly, both restaurants fly their fish in daily. Bartolotta from the Mediterranean and Okada from Tsukiji.

Commander's in Vegas is long closed.

Charlie Trotter came, saw, and bolted in short time too, many moons ago.

Fleur de Lys is excellent. It's expensive but not quite as expensive as some others (i.e., Alex, Robuchon). If you decide to go to FDL, reserve one of the private cabanas--you won't regret it.

Myt favorite, although I'm not sure it's the atmosphere you are looking for on your anniversary. It's kinda noisy but it's great and a fun place to eat.

Ten years is long enough to make a concession on the romantic front for the good food, IMO.

Andre's is a personal favorite. It is located downtown, but the food is first rate. The chef/owner also operates Alyze at the Palms which has many similar items on its menu.

If you are into celebrity chefs, then you have a myriad of choices. Thomas Keller is one of them who is definitely doing things right at Bouchon which is also based on French cooking techniques.

You don't have to shy away from seafood in Las Vegas as it is flown in daily for the top tier restaurants.

If you do a little web research on some of the recommended places you can peruse their menus and make arrangements for the type of seating you would like this far in advance.

Good luck, and congratulations on your pending anniversary.

The wife and I did this one on our trip. Awesome view of the belogio fountains. the food was pretty damn good. prices were a bit higher than I like to pay for dinner but I guess thats to be expected for a "fine dinning" experience in las vegas.

Thanks everyone. These are some great suggestions. Non-food question, I am a little torn between letting my wife in on picking or if I should make the reservations and then the morning of, telling her we have reservations at whatever time. Honestly, she is somewhat of a control freak, and I mean that in a good way, so I am thinking it will be more of an impact to just surprise her.

If you don't go to Mix to eat, I highly recommend going up there for a drink after dinner. It's my favorite view of a city. On Thursday night it's relatively sane, but Fridays they bring in a techno-DJ, so heads up.

It's a good thing they put prices on the menu out front - I nearly walked in with 4 friends just to grab some quick dinner. We went to Mesa Grill in Caesar's instead.

Picasso and Olives... can't go wrong.
