I'm reading online and all I see is "oak" wood. There are a number of different types of Oak trees. For example there is: water oak, live oak, shumard oak, etc etc...

Drop some knowledge on me F&D board

I use whatever falls on my property and have no complaints. Water, pin, live, it's all pretty close in flavor.

White oak, sure. Never heard of Live Oak being used, but I was wondering about it.

I ordered some Texas post oak online. It's what I use on damn near everything. I'll add some apple when I do pork.

I've used the live oak in my yard.

Also, there's some pecan trees behind my backyard. Every few weeks I go scrounging for fallen limbs.
