If the humidity in your house is off just a little bit it will frick a praline up in a hurry. A roux is more user error.

Roux doesn't necessitate worrying about the relative humidity of that particular day you are making it.

A roux is easy. Only a moron would have a problem making one.

Never made pralines but I know candy requires attention keeping the temp.

It would have to be the relative humidity in my house. No big trees for shade

Both can be made in the microwave. Not hard.

I'd be very appreciative if you could tell me how to make pralines in a microwave.

Pralines are harder, but only by a hair. Candymaking gets way easier with practice...you learn to tell the temp of the sugar by look/texture/changes in viscosity (how it bubbles) and by smell.
