Has Tracey's RB gone massively downhill in the last year and a half?

Pretty mediocre, imo. I mean, if I'm drunk and hungry it's fine. But so are a lot of places.

IDK 4 years ago every one and their mother claimed Parasol's was the best RB in the city. I haven't been there since I moved though, which was almost 2 years ago. I can't say I've had anything else there though.

Old tyme grocery shrimp poboy is better than domilises, guys, parkway, Mahonys, Tracey's, crabby jacks and all other Nola shrimp poboys i have.

What makes old tyme better for you? Everyone has different tastes. Just wondering.

When I eat a good poboy I am looking at:

1) bread- what type of bread and how fresh
2) amount of seafood/meat- if they overstuff and the type/quality of meat/seafood
3) batter/seasoning- what sort of batter and if it is seasoned. It seems that a lot of places are scared to season their food now days or just don't take the time to do it
4) toasted bread and buttered- personally I think this really helps the taste of a poboy. It's an extra step for a restaurant and a pain because it is time consuming for the kitchen but makes it taste better. Most places I find do not even do or give this option.
5) fresh toppings

I like Tracey's roast beef fwiw. R&O's is better, though.

So what changed then? These are serious questions btw I'm not trolling at all, just trying to figure out how it went from a best in the city to meh.

Different cooks. Different kitchen. Different ingredients.

I know that for awhile some of their deliveries were strictly COD, if that makes a difference.

Didn't realize that, I thought they just took everyone with them when the people from Florida bought the original. No idea why they'd change the ingredients.

Bread - fresh homemade frenchbread
Amount of seafood - so stuffed with shrimp that I have to eat 5-6 before I can even start eating the sandwich
Batter - crunchy, fresh and well seasoned
Topping - freshest toppings out there

Parkway is as good as any too, maybe its just a little out of the way of the uptown crowd. You know how parochial and ignorant they can be.

No, its because the thread originally started with the comment "not even top 5 within 2 miles" and Parkway is absolutely not less than 2 miles away. Try again.

I haven't had a RB there since football season, didn't know it went down hill. Not surprising. Same thing happened to Bears in Met.
