Was heading to Trader Joe's and drove by Roegels, so just got a snack 4oz portion of brisket. It was good.

Sadly, no low carb/vegetable style sides.

In town on business and on the strength of your rec I gave The Pit Room a try and I concur it's awesome! Both the lean and the moist brisket was outstanding. That Fred Flinstone beef rib they gave me was to die for. Hell the mac and cheese was even good. That spicy jalapeño cheese sausage was also tasty. I think this place is as good as Killen, possibly better, and I'm a huge fan of Killen. Seems like to me this Texas brisket stuff taste best when you show up right around 11:00 to say noon. I don't like it as much if you come dragging arse in late in the day or evening.

Jackson St is pretty good but Pit Room is on a different level IMO. I also think Drew's BBQ near Pit Room is pretty good.

Jackson St is clutch for before Stros games but it gets crowded

Say, baw, we missed each other.

I got the sautéed okra today as a low carb side.

It was my first time there. A few pieces of the brisket were a little dry, but the bark was perfect and seasoned wonderfully. The pork ribs were the star of the show.
