I could have used this while I was sitting at Cottons for 5 hours this weekend waiting on a wedding to start.

i have actually seen this in a few bars. I think the problem is cables. who brings their cables to bars? those cables would get snatched pretty quickly.

once wireless charging takes off this will be a non issue and every consumer place will offer wireless charging stations at select locations.

I saw the thing on Shark tank too. It makes sense to me because it may keep someone around to have a couple of more beers while their phone is charging. I would think that would offset the cost to the bar. I've definitely had this issue while out of town before.

I honestly don't see the upside for the bar owner. they have to buy the chargers and upkeep them…they aren't going to be able to charge customers a fee for using them.

That's pretty much what the guys on Shark Tank told the entrepreneur who was trying to get them to invest in something like this.

ETA: Oops, I should've read the thread. Sorry.

I most see a need for this in those dorks that sit around and take pictures of their beer at a bar. Weirdos

A wireless solution is the future, I guess, but you'd have to see some kind of market consolidation for it to be especially viable, I'd think? Or else you've got bars that are "iOS bars," "Android bars," etc.

What a loser.

They have chargers at RDV? I was in there last Friday night looking for you. I hollered "VOR" a few times, but nobody looked at me.

They'll charge your phone for you. If you're nice.

More like Jake sits at his feet while Wise stands in front of the fridge with a piece of beef jerky in one hand and reaching for tortillas with the other. Dude parties hard

I was actually at RDV for a few hours then walk over to Dat Dog. Did a beer and hot dog flight and then my phone died. Woke up on my living room floor fully clothed shoes and all. Don't remember going home. Jake ended up puking all day Saturday.

if you're by yourself getting trashed while just staring at your phone all night, it's kinda lame as shite.

meet people, get to know the bartenders, flirt with chicks, etc. if you're going to sit on your phone all night, just stay home.

Meh. Going to a bar to have a few drinks doesnt mean he is getting trashed alone. Dont tell me there isnt a time you have wanted to go out and have a few drinks without wanting to be social.

I never set out with that intent, but it happens.

Usually I try not to creep on people at bars if I am alone, and Tuesday nights aren't exactly prime for meeting new people.

Mrs FT usually does a good job at pulling numbers from other girls when I bring her to watch me drink beer.
