The Bulldog will now offer a smoke-free environment, congruent with the New Orleans location after a City Council ordinance passed earlier this year prohibiting smoking in bars and casinos.
General manager Remi DeMatteo said the change, which is effective immediately, will provide a cohesive experience between the Bulldog locations.
Additionally, in junction with the new smoke-free policy, The Bulldog will offer lunch seven days a week starting at 11:30 a.m.

I smoke and usually go every Wednesday. I might change my day to Thursday now because its damn near impossible to get a patio at 630 on a nice day

"Smoke free" = prohibits smoking at establishment.
Bulldog = allows smoking at establishment; claims to be "smoke free."
(still permitted on patio, which is a large chunk of the bar and the only area you can have a dog, which is, like, the whole gimmick of the bar).
The general expectation for a lot (most?) of the country is to NEVER allow smoking indoors, and a "smoke free" business wouldn't permit it in its outdoor dining areas.
Bulldog gets no respect or props for this one in my mind. A bold and better move would be to axe smoking in the establishment all together and force smokers to move to a designated area outside the bar.

I was there Tuesday,Thursday & Friday of last week. Really didn't notice anyone smoking. Besides the people that sit at the bar closest to the patio.
