Guessing it never had a chance because of the name of the brewery, not the liquid in the bottle.

I had the beer and gave it a chance, like i do all their beers. It wasn't good. I'm sorry that offends you, but they don't make much of anything that is above average. And like i said, IN MY OPINION.

I'm not going to pretend, though, that they are doing something incredible over there just because they are local (not saying you do eaither). I give them a chance. Their beer doesn't speak to me. I use to like their coffee porter but the last time they made it, it was too thin for my taste. Just because it's local doesn't mean it deserves my money. I'll give them more of a chance because they are local, but so far, they havent' done anything to earn my business. Again, that is my opinions of them. Drink their beer all you want.

It was a better gose than a couple of the more popular in state breweries that I won't name.

I'm not aware of other gose's made in state. The gose's/berliners i've been drinking have been mostly out of state. Prairie, Terrapin, Sierra Nevada, and Grimm when i can find it, is all superior to that shite Tin roof put out, IMO. Why? Because i found it lacking in acidity and dull in flavor. Was it their best beer they made? I dunno, i like it better than most of their other stuff but that isn't saying much.

ETA: And don't take this as i'm fussing at you. These are my opinions of the beer and the brewery.

Their is a really good brewery in ATL (from what i hear) called Creature Comforts. Never had them, but it's on my radar if i'm ever in the area.

I'm not saying that Tin Roof's gose was some world class example of the style. But to say that it was a bad beer or was brewed poorly or to call it "shite" is disingenuous. There are plenty of people (myself included) who haven't or didn't really give them a fair shake based on prior experiences. And there are beers in their current lineup that have no desire to drink. I get it. But you really need to differentiate between a beer that isn't your favorite from a badly brewed beer. The Tin Roof gose may have been the former, but it wasn't the latter.

I like what I've seen as far as the direction Tin Roof is going. Getting rid of Tom and Alex was a huge first step. Redesign of recipes is coming, but will take some time. The Bayou Bengal, while not an exciting beer by any means, shows that they are capable of brewing a hard to brew style well.

I stated IN MY OPINION, meaning personally, i didn't like it. Taste is subjective. I may like a beer that you hate and vice/versa. That's why i end each sentence with IMO to avoid confusion.

You are correct in that i generalized Tin Roof on their Gose. Maybe i shouldn't have done that. But i'll tell you this. My brother and I were at CBD when we had it. My brother is a bigger sour guy than I (I believe you met him at Nottoway), and we both thought the same thing. That doesnt mean everyone has the same reaction to it. That's just our perception of the beer. We didn't like it, and i was thankful i didn't buy a bomber of that stuff.

They need this badly. Everyone in my circle doesn't like their beers, and many won't even try their beers because of their initial rollout. I don't know what this new gal can do, but for the craft drinker, I wish they would brew something good.

Perfect example. I'm willing to try this beer, but i'm not buying a 6 pack to just be "Tin Roof'd" again. And so far, i can't find singles of this beer, and i'm not ordering this at the chimes or other beer bars (the rare once ever 2 months i go).

This is her last week, but she's done a good job of bringing in a new team and changing both processes and attitudes around there.

Hard to find singles of cans that aren't packaged in a separate six pack holder (like Terrapin) due to bar code issues. You may be able to find singles at Martin's, which is one of the few places that will sell single cans of Great Raft, NOLA, Tin Roof, etc.

I feel bad for sending you those Terpy Citra cans. It was much better on tap. The cans seem off.

That Foeder Cerise was awesome though.

I love them both.

Athena is a Berliner Weisse. They make one called Paradiso, which is a passion fruit Athena.

Tropicalia is their IPA.

Their Double IPA, Cosmik Debris is great as well.

One of my favorites is their seasonal porter called Koko Buni which is a 6.8% porter with toasted coconut, coffee, cocoa nibs, and vanilla beans.

They seemed a bit oxidized, but still good, because Citra. Gonna get to the sour later this week.

Yup, and more and more expensive. They are some high quality complex sours that will run you anywhere from $25-$30/bottle.

For a saison with some slight acidity that is good, you can try Goose Island Sofie. It runs anywhere from $12-14/4 pack.

Will forever be in the rotation for two reasons. Its is good and ages well. The ladyfriend loves it.

She is developing a taste for sours too, it is troubling to my bank account.

I have seen it for $10 a four-pack but its usually 12

Check out Great Raft's Saisons if you are in LA then. They are pretty damn good. They had a mayhaw sour a few months ago that was good as well, doubt you can find that still around

Sierra Nevada's Gose is great as well.

The true sours are going to cost you some change just a fair warning. That is why I stick to gose's for the most part.

Speaking of this brewery anyone know what happened to Grace and Grit? Don't see it on their website anymore.

That was one fine DIPA.
