When you start complaining about how bar food should be raised to what YOU consider acceptable, that's exactly what you're doing.

Expressing my personal opinion on food matters I find acceptable from not on a food board?

Yeah... Da fuk?

What are you talking about? Go where you like. I'll go where I like, and I'll say what the frick I like about food and have my own personal opinions on the matter. You've said you don't care about the food. I do. This is a food board. Grow thicker skin. frick...

I like that the guy having a meltdown and cursing is telling me to have thicker skin.

I don't think anybody is criticizing you for having an opinion. We get it. You don't like Walk-ons or the type of food they serve.

What I don't understand is why you feel the need to keep bashing them for it when you obviously don't fit in their target market. You constantly talk about how they should unnecessarily change what they're doing when you aren't the type of customer they're going after.

I never said they need to change. Matter of fact, I said it wasn't at all on their agenda if they intended to chain It to death. What I said was if it's deemed acceptable because it's what people here are accustomed to when the term "bar food" is mentioned, could not the term "bar food" mean something better if better became the standard over what is now acceptable for bar food here?

IOW, could not the acceptable standard change for what we consider bar food if better becomes the watermark? This was in response to a statement that it is acceptable bar food. What I was saying was that it's a term relative to what we deem acceptable based on our experiences here, not necessarily acceptable where better bar food is served in other areas of the country perhaps.

So in your perfect bar food world, what types of things would Walk-Ons be serving?

If you don't see how that is essential asking why don't they change, I really don't know what to tell you.

That was so stupid

They can't change. Chains cannot do that kind of food, and that seems to be the direction they are going in.

And yet here you are asking why can't the level of "bar food" change.

I don't give a shite what they serve, but the problem I have with them isn't in the menu items necessarily, as it is in the execution and the final product. That all gets back to the model they're operating under and it is what it is. If that's good enough for you, knock yourself out.

what? You want bar food, which they serve, to change but you don't have a problem with that they serve?

Not sure if you actually read what other people post but I clearly said back in one of the posts on this thread that I don't go there. I just don't feel the need to constantly complain about what they're doing.

I feel like I'm arguing with Jay Carney. All 3 pages of this thread are filled with posts from him complaining about what Walk-Ons serves and then he says he doesn't give a shite what they serve. I don't even know what to say to that.

I guess if it's like the original one, it will probably do well in a walkable community, especially during football season. There's no way they're going to overtake Sammy's up here, but there's also a big apartment complex going up just across 64 from Americana, so that'll bring in a lot of traffic as well. We're considering buying in there, and given my limited experience at the Walk-Ons in BR, I'm not in the least interested in this one. I'm disappointed this is the first restaurant there, but at least the development is picking up pace.
