ft worth is great, downtown has an area called sundance square and its all very clean and walkable and has tons of restaurants and bars

sundance square

my recs for sundance

Lonesome Dove Western Bistro- this is the chef Tim Loves joint- was featured on ESPN gameday- supposed to be badass. elk, buffalo, all local meat.
catina Laredo- upscale tex mex and drinks
mi cocina- upscale tex mex- cougar central- get the mambo taxi drink. awesome
daddy jacks seafood- cool place
flying saucer- chain with 100+ beers
frankies bar- cool local bar and good food

also the new trendy area is called west 7th and is 5-10 minutes from TCU area. very nice and tons of talent

West 7th

my recs

Thirteen pies- upscale pizza and wine bar
Glorias- awesome place, $4 margaritas and cool vibe. el Salvadorian food and tex mex. black bean dip is the shite
Chimys- trendy tex mex happy hour crowd
Social House- craft beer and good food
sushi axiom- good sushi upscale joint
Eddie V's - seafood and steak

also a wildcard is a great dive place close to TCU called Freds Texas Café

its voted best hangover place and was on Diners Drive Ins and Dives. cool vibe, cold beer and kick arse food. also has live music outside

I always liked sitting outside at Flying Saucer and people watching.

Mi Cocina is nice also.

Joe T Garcias is good, just didn't know if he meant he wanted close to TCU or what?

Ft Worth is a big area, 800k in the city limits alone so I didn't want to send him 30-40 minutes in every direction

if you are going to expand to Joe T area, might as well suggest stockyards, etc.

if you go to the stockyards, go eat at coopers bbq. get the big chop. you're welcome

Joe T's is crap food IMO with a nice patio. So don't eat there, just have a marg.

Hit Tres Joses for some lunch mexi or El Asadero near the stockyards for some ol school ,hole in the wall mexi.

West Magnolia street south of downtown has a bunch of bars/ restaurants....Live Oak Lounge, Zio Carlo Brewpub, Magnolia Motor Lounge.

Downtown...a lot of people like downtown FW but its pretty boring IMO. Flying Saucer is a good place to sit outside and drink but other than that we never spend much time in DT. On the southside of downtown is the T&P Lounge in the old art deco train station. Its a cool place to have a beer. You can catch a train to Dallas there too.

FW has some really good museums if you have time to kill. Amon Carter Museum is free and has a lot of Remington and Russell paintings, western art as well as good modern art stuff.

Tres Joses is closed. Triple thumbs up on El Asadero.

Lonesome Dove isn't in Sundance Square, but the Stockyards. Recommend. Wine room in the basement that isn't publicized, just ask.

Magnolia (hospital district) is great. Bearded Lady is also there, and has amazing craft beer. (Magnolia Motor Lounge is in W 7th development).

Enjoy FW--great city.

birthday night for cute girls. Landmark, Magnolia Motor Lounge--all in W7th development.

Not too familiar with bars around TCU, but I'm sure they'll be slammed, too.

Good luck and happy birthday!

I second Magnolia Motor Lounge. Great time and there's always a good band playing. Food is solid, too.

Reata would be a good choice. They have a roof bar and some tables up there as well. Really nice when weather cooperates.

Hang around west 7th and you will see some quality tail

Go eat at chimys and they will be sucking down cheap margaritas like its water. Then one of the above mentioned bars will work well.

Fort worth has some awesome talent. Gonna be 76 and sunny Wednesday too so you might see a few sun dresses and boots

Damn....can't find a reason online. That place had been around forever. Any idea why they closed?

Not sure, but they were never really busy the few times we stopped.

Pearl Snap Kolaches is now in that space.

Rooftop bar at Reata if the weather is good. Tenderloin tamales are killer. Grace, Bird Cafe, Little Red Wasp all have good eats. There is a cool cigar bar diagonally across from Bass Hall.
