I've enjoyed most of the insight on this board for good beer and I have expanded my tastes because of it and also ordered a starter brew kit from NB. So I want to get some suggestions on what beer I should pick up on my journey to Florida this weekend that I cant get around BR.

Taste preference = anything

InB4 Yuengling.

If going to Destin, McGuire's Irish Pub is a must stop.

I can't help you on the beer selection in MS, AL, and FL, but I can say keep doing what you're doing. Any new beer, at least at the moment, is a good beer. That's how I brew and shop for beer. "Have I had this?" "No." "Okay, lets brew or buy it and find out if I like it."

I know there's a Wine World in Pensacola. I had good luck at the Destin location a few months back. Buy what looks good.

Cool thanks man, I'm definitely trying. Been doing constant research, signed up on different brew forums, reading Palmers "How to Brew". I'm pretty damn excited

I like McGuires and go there all the time. But I wonder if they really make their own beer like they claim. Surely some brewery makes it for them

Here's a few things I picked up there last week. While a couple of these brewery's can be found in Texas, none are in louisiana.

Oskar Blues Ten Fidy
Laguniatas Maximus
Sweetwater IPA
Terrapin Hopsecutioner
Terrapin Monk's Revenge
Terrapin Big Hoppy Monster
Terrapin Coffee Oatmeal Imperial Stout
Dogfish Head Indian Brown Ale
Dogfish Head Raison D'etre
Cigar City Maduro
Cigar City Jai Alai
Bell's Oberon
Bell's Two Hearted Ale
Southern Tier IPA
Southern Tier Inequity
Southern Tier Gemini
Bruery Saison Rue
Dogfish Head Chateau Jiahu

Also Great Divide makes great stuff, grab some Yeti Imperial Stout.

Goodluck

If Pensacola is your destination, there is an international foods store there with a large selection of beer. Called 4 Winds

From what I hear, if you're only hitting up one place in Pensecola, this is the place to hit up.

Why not try the local beer. Pensacola has a small brewery, that I will be hitting up when I go for Labor Day. I will probably have to go to the brewery to get it but thats the fun of it.

Lets be truthful though, I will definitely be bringing a decent shopping list to bring back. Great Divide, Cigar City, we will see what else.

Mississippi has a Lazy Magnolia brewery and it's just North of I-10. It's not world renown, but it tastes pretty good.

Should be able to pick some off of the Kiln/BSL exit, but I haven't verified this.

Softcore Beer Porn that May help you out

If I had to cut the list down I'd stick with the cigar city jai alai (one of my favorites right now), DFH 90 Min if you've never tried it, great divide yeti, Southern Tier Gemini, Bell's Two Hearted and go from there.

Given the lists others have provided, DO NOT settle for Yuengling.

I agree. We drank one while we were up there and I had to grab one to bring home. Thats not typical of me, I usually like to spend my money on as many different things as possible.

shite is good
