There's dozens of recipes online but I trust the F&D board to point me in the rite direction. Any simple recipes?! Thanks

mayo
horse radish
hot sauce
onions
bell peppers
garlic
slap ya mamma
if you want an easy one.........here you go.
mix 3/4 to 1/4 mayo to horse radish. (I like horse radish)
add minced onions, bellpeppers, and garlic.
mix slap ya mamma in there
add hot sauce to taste
add relish if you like it a little sweeter.

You'll find several old threads here on the subject. You can probably find a recipe in those that you like.

I love homemade tartar sance and remembered we'd had a number of threads on it in which I was pretty sure I would have posted, so I searched "tartar sauce gris gris" and voila!

Bell pepper? Might have to try that
And I add chives

The only bell pepper I'd consider using would possibly be red and finely chopped or some pimentos. I'm not big on bell pepper in my sauce.

I'm not a big tartar sauce fan, but what they serve at Herby-K's in Shreveport is the best I've ever had. You have to ask for it, but it's free.
Anyone know their recipe?

Mayo, onion, relish. Doctor it up from there. There shouldn't be any horseradish, hot sauce or heavy garlic in it. That's city-fied (and atrocious) tarter sauce.

Cup of mayo
1 T yellow mustard, maybe more
Pinch of onion powder
Pinch of garlic powder
1 to 2 T sweet pickle relish (or dill if you are bent that way)
Mix and let it sit in the fridge a bit.

Yes I do. And a little lemon juice is a good thing.

Put any bay leaf in it, too?
