With the oldest daughter having delivered a new baby daughter on Wednesday afternoon my first granddaughter has been staying with us. Yesterday morning the wife picked up a dozen of doughnuts for breakfast and there were five stale glazed left. I should mention that Elise loves doughnuts and French toast and so I decided rather than give the doughnuts to the chickens I'd make French toast with them.

I should've cut back on the sugar a bit and these didn't need powdered sugar or syrup when served. Not too bad if I may say so.

I love doing things with leftover donuts. French toast donuts are delicious. My Dad used to halve Sunday's donuts on Monday morning, butter the halves and toast them in the oven. Monday morning breakfast with bacon. Still a favorite for me.
