yeah if you add onion it ceases to be a tomato sandwich.

tomato sandwich does not include toasted bread you troll

white bread + mayo + tomato + salt + pepper that's it.

add onions? it's a tomato and onion sandwich. and bacon and lettuce it becomes a BLT

That would be why I called them "onion and tomato sandwiches".

White bread
Blue Plate Mayo
Med thickness tomato slices(homegrown)
Salt and pepper
Occasionally some sweet onion


My S Carolina cousins version
Yellow bread (can’t remember brand)
Miracle Whip
Peeled tomato slices
Salt and pepper
Vidalia onions
Have eaten a bunch of these on Fripp Island.
