Social media and The Little Village Downtown BR

Pulled from their Facebook page.
I can't find the original post that prompted all of this - unless this is it and was posted by Little Village? Anyone else in the know?
The overall feedback is that their customers back the General Manager's response, which is good to hear. Always a very slippery slope with today's social media.

My name is Kevin Kimball and I am the Operations Manager at The Little Village. I am very sorry to see that we have upset you. I usually stop there and stay on high ground, being politically correct, but due to the nature of your conduct in our establishment and your attack on our business and on our staff I will speak my mind. We try to accommodate every wish of every guest every time. We failed to note and accommodate your request and for that I apologize. I can tell you that there was no option at that moment short of asking another guest to vacate their table for you so that you would not continue your floor show of malcontent for not getting a window seat. If I was THAT upset about the placement of my table in a restaurant, upset enough to intimidate a poor little girl working her way through college, and DEMAND operations be put on hold immediately until a manager came by and addressed the unfortunate situation of having to sit at a table not deemed suitable, I would have simply chosen to spend my money elsewhere. INSTEAD you continued to cause such a scene that not only did the manager buy you a round of drinks but also offered you a gift card for your next visit hoping that it would calm you down enough so that the guests around you could get back to enjoying their meals. By the way, had you calmed down from your catastrophic seating situation you would have heard him tell you that the gift card would be noted in our system, along with your affinity of window tables, to be redeemed on your next visit. Instead, you chose to attack him on social media and stoop to calling him classless when, in fact, your actions were the only classless thing happening in this situation. That brings me to the unthinkable! Calling for the hostess' job! That sweet girl, who finished high school early and enrolled in college early, holding two jobs to pay for it, the sweetest girl I have had in that position in over 30 years in this industry, was not disrespecting you, she was dumbfounded and threatened by the way you acted towards her, OVER A TABLE! I do not know if you have children but if you do I hope and pray that they are never subjected to someone asking for them to be fired for something as trivial as this...I also hope and pray that whatever you are dealing with in your life that would cause such a lashing out of anger towards good, hard working people, over the location of your table in a restaurant, might be lifted off of your shoulders. As to the gift card that WAS offered and set up for your next visit, please know that it is no longer offered and we invite you to enjoy your meals elsewhere!

Could very well be, however it appears the business protected the customer's name by simply copying and pasting.
Just curious as to how this went down inside the restaurant.

I could not locate any. If I posted this on the OT, we'd have pictures in a New York minute.
After what I read, I would gladly go downtown and support this restaurant.

I've never had a bad experience at either location. Now some days the food has tasted better than others but that is something you have to deal with.

I really really want to know who it was that acted this way. A miserable human being, for sure.

I never saw the person's name. I saw Kevin's response on my FB page from his private FB. I know him and it's highly unusual for him to respond to a customer in any way other than respectful and trying to fix things, right or wrong, so this person must have been horrible. Kevin is a super guy.
Makes me wonder how the "vip" this person was entertaining thought about the behavior. From the sound of it, I would have cut out and run, leaving the maniac to her own devices.

Social media is the ruination of the world. If you don't like the service adjust your tip, if you don't like the food don't go back, no need to make an arse of yourself for the whole world to see (then again doesn't seem like this person minds the whole world seeing).

I think people assume the rest of the world will see things their way. In this case, the comments were not supportive of this woman and she removed her post. She didn't think before she wrote. That's the problem.
I like reading restaurant reviews, but you can tell from the way their written much of the time whether to give the review credibility.

Had a pretty poor experience with a steak, our table, and a waiter who said they didn't know how to make or even know what an espresso was, nor did the bartending staff allegedly after our dinner at the downtown location a year or three back. This is for my best friend's wife's birthday dinner.
Waited 1+ hour for fish, chicken and two steaks and the steak was Chuck Taylored. This was off of a 5:45 reservation to wait that long?
Great ambiance and the bread was great-isn't it always?-but when I compare the multiple issues I had downtown with the ridiculously pitch perfect dinners I've had off Airline at least three times and counting? Well let's just say they won't fool me twice.

Little Village is probably the most overpriced and overrated restaurant in BR. And that's saying a lot.

I have never been, but I have a good friend who loves it.

The customer sounds like a grade-A count, but The Little Village is terrible.

I've always had good dealings with Kevin and he's been in the restaurant biz for a long time. This guest must have been a nightmare

I eat lunch there 3 or so times a month and never had a problem except the hike to the bathroom. Foods not bad and never had a service issue. And I have a good picture of some women I know that could be acting like that. His response was justified and appropriate.

What a fantastic response. I haven't been to the LV DT in over a year or two, but I may go back just to shake this guys hand. It absolutely amazes me how rude some customers are to wait staff and front of the house when I'm out at restaurants, the sense of entitlement that some people have, and the way that some people feel as though they can treat and talk down to another human being when they don't get what they want.

The complainer should be outed. People can then call for her employer to fire her for being such a bitch.
