Anyone ever smoked oysters ? Was thinking of doing this to a dozen or so, next time I purchase a sack to char-grill. Any tips or pointers ?

I know you can purchase the ones in a can, but I am talking about on the half-shell, fresh.

Talk on the full shell senor. Crack them open to allow you drain the salt water contents out of the oyster, in order to put in whatever seasoning element you desire(think compound butter). The grilling process will get rid of the problem of the bivalve little bugger needing to be be shucked in the whole manner that raw takes.

I give instructions based upon how I have dealt with things before with thier problem. It is a way to communicate over miles of interweb and give the person a new insight to the thing that is the problem.

It wasn't the substance, it was purely the grammar.

Are you smoking them or chargrilling them?

I have done both and prefer grilled, but smoked is good too. I always shucked first, I think that other guy who writes funny was saying not to shuck them.

You put compound butter on the oysters when you are smoking them?

I was planning on Grilling some, and smoking some. I suppose i would use the same butter cheese citrus topping for both.
