Thinking about trying their mix out next time I boil. For those that have tried it, what did you think of it? If it's weak, I can just put a little more liquid, salt, and/or cayenne in the pot.

I normally use one of these two mixes...

Honestly, just try it. If it sucks, you won't use it again. I've never tried it, but I always like to experiment with new mixes whenever I see them. If its the same size as that 4.5lb bag of louisiana, just use ~same amount as you normally would.

I looked at it last week. It was $12.99. Louisiana was $4.99. I bought Louisiana.

Haven't tried it, but SYM seasoning has replaced Tony's in my cabinet. I'd try it based on that.

I've never tried it but saw it in the store recently and wondered If it was any good. After 30 years of boiling crawfish the same way using liquid Zatarain, cayenne or Chinese red pepper and salt, I just switched to Chackbay and liquid Zatarain and it was beyond damn good.

I used it a couple of weeks ago for a sack and a half. One bag was enough without adding more salt. Added maybe half cup of liquid boil during the soak and they came out pretty good. My cousin did the other sack and a half with Zats and salt. Both received equal compliments. I only tried SYP because it was on clearance at Wally World. I would use it again.

Chackbay

All this talk on chackbay got me to order 3 bags of it to try for my next boil. Hope this stuff lives up to expectations.

I ordered the three pack too. Didn't know I could just buy it at rouses for almost half the price. Oh well. Just trying to figure out a good recipe for a 120 qt pot for this weekend.

Wonder if I could find it in Dallas. The price on Amazon luckily wasn't too bad.

Go to that Chackbay thread and read what others have posted and their thoughts. The stuff is real good. The issue it appears to me is some folks like their crawfish spicy as hell and others like them well seasoned. I thought the Chackbay had excellent flavor but it takes liquid Zatarain to get it kicked up a notch on the heat. But that Chackbay is a good base to start with.
