They won't. The Nail is a trendy place. The patio is a big draw and the location is prime. Cooter's no matter what will have that man cave feel and for whatever reason the Carrollton area is not a big draw for the 20 something crowd. I can't see the demographics changing. Which is good because I go there to watch sports, drink beer, and not be bothered. I like the Nail a lot but it is not a real sports bar.

my informal ranking -- I only eat unbreaded/naked wings, so I haven't tried Bayou Hot Wings since I've heard they don't offer naked

Terrible news. Cooter Brown's food was good. Nothing fancy but the burgers are smashing!
These types of places need to strike a delicate balance. Cooter's was just the way it's supposed to be. Minor tweaks maybe, but a whole new ownership is going to screw with stuff too much and it will kill the goose that lays the egg.
It'll be another bullshite millennial bar with sprouted wheat buns, bullshite microbrews that no one has heard of or likes and 21 yo shite stains for employees.
Bye bye institution! Hello experimental bullshite.
