Everyone on FB freaking out about this place opening soon...what's so special about it? This shows how boring the food scene is here, that we get a new breakfast place and the whole town pees themselves with excitement. Unless their food is mind-blowing or they have $5 bottomless mimosas, I don't really understand the hype.

FB people love brunch. Ruby Slipper has brunch. That being said it's pretty good but I also have a lady friend who drags me there because....it's brunch.

Gotcha. Yeah, I am not hating on brunch. I love me some brunch, just don't get the hype about this place in particular. But whatever, yay for a 4th brunch place in BR ..Hopefully they have cheap drinks

It's certainly not life changing but the Chicken St. Charles is pretty damn good.

Google "Ruby Slipper" because they have a website with their menu and some pictures. They have places in New Orleans and Florida.

Their drinks aren't cheap. Unless they suddenly adopt a new business model for their BR store

Well that is not smart. They will make food sales but not much on liquor if that's the case. Literally every brunch place in BR has great mimosa specials (Cap City Grill, BRQ, Mason's, Portobello's). Just saying, they will need to up their game to compete with that.

Menu looks good and I'd be interested to check it out, as I'm not a fan of the "drink specials" crowd.

LOL.

Ruby Slipper will clean up. They have built up such a name that they pretty much just do what they want at this point.

Ruby Slipper is good. I enjoy going there occasionally, but its just a good brunch place. That's about it.

Back when they first opened their first location in MidCity NOLA they were the shite.

I like Ruby Slipper, but it's not anything exceptional. I'm still happy about the fact that I'll have another option for breakfasty type food every day if I want it. It's basically directly competing with Another Broken Egg.

Agreed, good food but nothing special. Highly overpriced mimosas and bloodys.

Sounds to me like you are just looking for a cheap drunk.

I've been to the one in NOLA (loved it) but heard the waits are long in BR. Give it few months, we need solid brunch and breakfast places. Anything is better than IHOP.

I was excited about the one on Magazine opening. Go about once a week.

The owner of the "chain" is pretty cool too.
