Ribs in the oven

I'm hungry for ribs and the only method of cooking them I currently have access to is the oven. I've done them before but looking for other ideas. What's your best recipe for ribs in the oven?

Sacrilege....
Never done them in the oven but I'm sure it's not that difficult. I'd remove the membrane, trim the fat then mop with apple juice to get them moist. Apply your rub (not too heavy because they'll be covered). Fwiw, my rib rub of choice is Sweet Rub O' Mine. Let them sit on the counter while your oven gets to 275. Place them on a rack in a pan and cover the bottom of the pan with apple juice. Cover them and let them go for a couple of hours. When you check them, look for the meat to pull back from the bones about 1/4".
When you see that, they're done. I'd take them out and hit them with the rub again, put the oven on broil and throw them back in for a few minutes. Watch them close. When you see a nice mahogany color, turn off the oven, take them out and baste them with a thin sauce. I like Big Mike's Sweet Heat but Sticky Fingers Memphis Sweet is good too. Light coat of sauce and back in for 5-10 minutes to set the sauce. Pics of finished product must be provided.

I know but I'm working on a drilling rig and we don't have a smoker or even a pit out here.

Check out Alton Browns recipe. Basically just wrap in foil and braise them in the oven and then back in the oven to finish uncovered

I've never had ribs from an oven but a quick google search using your thread title came up with this. Five star rated with 70 reviews and close to 200 comments. Must be pretty good. It even has instructions for two different sauces.

I went to my mother-in-laws last weekend, and she said we were cooking ribs. I get there, and they're boiling in water. She told me I could "finish" them on the grill.
I died a little inside.

chowhound method
Those come out fine for me. I don't make the sauce though, and I don't use that much salt.

Set oven to 225-250 degrees
Remove membrane.
Season(rub)to your liking.
Place on a rack, and put them in the oven.
Cook until done...About 2 hrs for loin back, Maybe 3+ for Spares. You'll just need to check.
You may baste a few times if you wish.
Sauce, if desired during the last 20-30 minutes or so.
Leave the tin foil in the cabinet.
Luck!

I WISH I could get back on a rig. If you on a land rig, throw you a little weber in back your F250. About the above recipe/method I gave you...I wanted to add that you could put a few drops of liquid smoke in the apple juice you initially baste with. Give it a little more of that pit taste.

I have an F150 the downturn was real
I didn't get a chance to go to the store yet so it will be tomorrow or the next day when I cook some ribs. I was thinking liquid smoke in the apple juice as well. I'll end up doing a mix of everybody's recipes/methods in here. I'll post pics if I remember to take them.

Ain't nothing like a good ole boiled rack of ribs. Tell her to add crab boil next time. It will change your life!
