Reverse Sear (First Attempt)

In the oven for 22 minutes @ 250 then flipped it and lowered to 200 for 20 more minutes.
Let it sit for 15 minutes then put it on the grill for a minute on each side. Then in the microwave to two minutes (Not really)
I would have liked it to be a little more rare but it was still good.

Cut the heat during your oven time to 190° or lower if you can. You'll get the rare you're looking for.
But that looks great, good job.

Did this last night... one reverse sear for the wife and one on the BGE for me.
I put hers in at 275 until it hit 130 internal temp (she likes it more medium) and then let it rest 15 minutes before a quick sear on the grill. Came out great, but honestly the one I cooked just on the BGE was about the same, except medium rare.

How thick is that? I do reverse sear all time and it never spends that much time in the oven unless I'm at 1.5-2" thick.
I use the Cook's Illustrated method: Oven at 200, steak in for 10-15 minutes or until it reaches internal temperature of 100-110. Sear in a hot cast iron pan for 90 seconds to 2 minutes per side. You get a great crust, perfectly medium rare.

A little too thin of a steak, but not bad results.
are you serving on a wicker basket?

Potatoes not fluffy enough, but Looks pretty good.
OK I would eat it. Would rather have tater tots as potato option though.

Go a little lower on the oven temp, and higher on the grill to get a better sear. I'd still eat it though.
