I am taking some folks this week and none of them have been before..... want to make sure I recommend solid dishes.

Death By Gumbo, obviously. I liked the Duck and Quail, but thats the extent of my experience.

Thanks!

It's been about a year since I've been. The crab beignets are very good. I've had several foie gras dishes and they were great each time. My Dad had the turtle soup which he liked a lot. He got a duck dish, but the duck was a little dry. Not sure if it's the current duck dish on the menu because they change up some of those dishes from time to time. I've had the hoisin glazed visiting fish twice and really enjoyed it both times. Can't recall the other dishes right now, but overall, with the exception of the duck, all meals were enjoyed. I think there were braised short ribs with grits on one occasion...

We went Thursday night, had the death by gumbo, an order of the crabmeat begniets for apps, both fantastic.we also had the tuna tartare which I could have just ordered again and had as my meal and would have been happy
My friend got the bone in veal chop, his wife got the seared sea scallops with foie gras, my wife had the short ribs and I had a ribeye. All were wonderful, especially the veal chop and foie gras.
Some port for dessert after a few cocktails and a bottle of wine.
It was my friends wife's bday celebration so they took really good care of us.
I would go back soon if I wasn't about to get on a plane, but maybe on our return trip in August.

We did stop by Shaya on the way out today for lunch, and will definitely return. In August
