Why close to Turner? Want to eat before or after a game? Where are you staying?

Staying at a dump. Grant Park, but we'll be able to walk to the Sat game (Miami series in August). I'm looking to book a good dinner Friday. A cab ride is not a problem.

If you can get a table Gunshow is a must. Also there's Gravy which is right in Grant Park. Could also Uber or Cab just north and check out Two Urban Licks.

Augustine's in Grant Park is very solid. I'd look around that area if you are trying to stay close to turner.

As R2R said, Gunshow is great and might be the first restaurant I would recommend to anyone coming to atl.

Fox brothers would be another spot that I always recommend.

Decatur is a good destination. And Marta runs right to it.

Iberian Pig, Brick Store Pub, Pinewood, Leon's are places I've enjoyed

I'd meet you for a beer somewhere too if you are interested and have time.

You could also try a place on Edgewood or in Inman Park.

Miso Izakaya has excellent sushi and Japanese small plates. Bocco Lupa had great cocktails and pasta. Serpas never disappoints and has one of the best brunches in the city, but it has a New Orleans spin to it so you might be looking for something else.

In Inman, Fritti has good pizza and a great wine list. Barcelona is a very popular and expensive tapas place with a (supposedly) excellent wine list. I've never been so I can't speak to it.

Cabbagetown would also be an option just around the corner from Turner Field. Agave is a really good place for southwestern fare. Milltown Arms is a good bar with your standard bar food and Carroll Street Cafe is a funky spot with a cool vibe that serves tapas, pasta and sandwiches.

I'd skip two urban licks no matter what.

This is part of Ray's Restaurant Group, so it should be pretty fantastic. They've been in the Atlanta restaurant scene since the early eighties. The group itself has a great reputation, especially their Ray's on the River location, although I've not been to any of their locations in at least fifteen years when I was a teenager. Should be an excellent meal. I'd be interested to get your thoughts on it if you decide to go.
