Looking for casual upscale restaurant that serves very good food or a place that you would normally go back to when in town for business.

I'm not going to be of much help but if you like Indian food they're pretty plentiful in the Sugar Land area.

Not a big fan. Unless I am near a restroom.

When hunting outside of San Angelo, we always grabbed a meal at PePe's...a locals TexMex and country cooking joint. Just NW of town.

I can help with a few

Abilene: Head just south to Buffalo Gap and hit up Perini's Ranch. Great, great steaks. Don't leave without having bread pudding.

Odessa: Head just east to Midland and hit up Martinez Bakery. It is in the ghetto, so go before sunset. Get a brisket torta. Come back here and thank me. It's by far the best thing I've ever eaten. The tacos are great as well. When I'm out at our office in West Texas, I make it a point to go and get a torta.

Note on Odessa/Midland...service and food at most chain spots absolutely suck. Different breed of folks there or something.

Go to the north side of Clear Lake and check out Tommie's on Bay Area Blvd. You will not be disappoint. Also, Perry's Steakhouse on Bay Area & Cullen's American Grille on Space Center (eat in the bar, not the restaurant).
