I got a mid range one off of Amazon a few months back and the probe is already failing. It's registering temperature is way too high in the egg on a basically raw a piece of meat ( saying the meet is 130 when I just put it in )

Don't need the deluxe high-end but looking for a recommendation from folks smarter than me

Maverick

This is a really good one, long range and it comes in a variety of prices.

Thermoworks Smoke, is probably the best available, but has 100 dollar price tag

I've wasted a lot of money on these things, until I bought a Maverick, now I have one that has worked well for years.
