This looks interesting. Opening for lunch this Wednesday until they get their liquor license and will then expand into nights. Brazilian and Korean gastropub...sounds interesting. Here is little tidbit from Nola Eater.

I don't think R'evolution has anything to worry about.

Interesting concept. The format of the menu has a Chinese takeout vibe to it though hope they change it up a little.

Wonder what type of beer they will since they are advertising themselves as a Gastropub. I have never been to a Gastropub I hated so we'll see how this does.

Bump
Missed this thread the first time around. Looks like they are finally opening for dinner service.

Menu is pretty ambitious and will be a rare contributor to the Korean-NOLA scene.

Anyone try this place yet?

I dislike when the chef at a new restaurant does not get to develop their own menu.

The menu for this place was developed by David Dickensauge who is still the chef of Bin77 in Baton Rouge. He does not appear to have any experience with Korean or Brazilian cuisine and is staying in Baton Rouge. It looks like his sous chef, Steven Oneil, is the one coming down here to implement the menu.

This is also the first restaurant for the owner. I will definitely check it out, but honestly not expecting great things despite a unqiue concept for New Orleans.

I would think the menu was crafted by both chefs, with the executing chef (O'Neil) getting the last word? At least I hope.

Had a friend who ate there this past week and said the Ramen was the best he has had in New Orleans. Also was impressed by the creativity of the dishes and the plating. The patio looks like it will be nice. We'll see.

Finally got a chance to get in for lunch. I was very impressed. The food was great and it was apparent that the chef has prepared his team with an artful hand for presentation and flavors. Went with two friends and we kind of had a smorgasbord of sorts.

Standouts were the Brussel sprout and lamb pancetta salad, The Fried Oyster salad with enoki mushrooms, and the Rebellion Burger. Great flavors. Almost clean without too much seasoning but resonant.

Also had the Duck empanadas and the spring rolls. They were good as well. My only complaint is although the dough for the empanadas was light and puffy(almost pastry-like), the duck was ground so fine as to almost make a meal. I would have preferred bigger chunks but it's a small complaint. Will definitely be heading back to get some Udon and Pho- and the Ribeye( looked amazing.) Staff is upbeat and helpful if not still on a little learning curve. Very reasonable and I like the location. Hard to spot While walking until they get the sign up though- have to look for the chalkboard on the street.

I know one of the investors. Good guy. Hope they make it and that I can get there sooner rather than later.

Nice review!

How was the crowd? I saw they already have a groupon deal going which is usually concerning. I could see them just trying to get their name out, especially this soon.

I'm ready to try this place, and hope they do well.

It was about 3/4 full for lunch on Thursday. Eclectic mix of tourist(about 15%), power business(about 50%), and the rest looked to be very food aware and current with style. I do like the space itself(although it will grow into it as far is decor is concerned) and it almost mixes industrial kitchen aesthetic with ultra lounge. A little appropriate funk for the CBD. Will definitely head back soon.
