Where can we get some decent oysters in Lafayette? Thanks.

Best are in Abbeville.Blacks, Dupuys or Shucks in that order. If you want shucked,Blacks will open to order for pints, quarts, or half gallons. In lafayette Dons Downtown, Dons on Johnston or Poor Boys Riverside. Chez Francois and the Rouses sell them usually from Houma area. I think Blacks is best because I like big ones on the half shell and I tip the shucker to pick me out the largest with Poor Boys second but #1 if you want other food after the oysters. Blacks has a good large interesting bar area as well!!

I've had them at Don's a few years back. Also Dwight's, and I remember them being better.

Many years ago, when Black's was owned by the original owner, all three place got their oysters from the same vendor. Just saying...
