That was the first thing we made in it. I just used the usual rub, browned it for a few minutes and then threw it in the pot for 60 minutes. It was done after that but not super tender, so I added another 30 minutes and it was perfect.

Bad Byrons rub and sear
1/3 cup of apple cider vinegar
1/2 cup ketchup
Bottle of root beer or Dr Pepper
6 hrs on low. Sprinkle some more Byrons in the pot.
Not as good as smoking but works if you want to toss in before work and eat when you get home

I want to say it was close to 5. I still had to cut it in half to fit, but since it was for pulled pork, presentation wasn't exactly a consideration.

Oh, I also added a half cup of water to get the steam going.

I do this all the time and it's always amazing. Seriously people demand it at parties

Crock pot

Pork shoulder all visible fat trimmed

Homemade or store bought rub

20 oz bottle of Dr Pepper or root beer

Put everything in crock pot and don't touch for 8 hours. Drain pot

Shits like butter. So good
