I got this from someone dirt cheap on Letgo, so i rolled the dice. Haven't seen a burner like this before, but i got it for 30 bucks with the pot that's in the pics. I'm gonna put a new regulator on this bad boy and see "what it do." It's cast iron, and heavy as shite.

Anybody seen a burner like this before?

Its not cast iron, the rings are actually ring gaskets that go in high pressure flanges. The legs is just round bar welded to them to make a burner. That's pretty much all we had growing up. Try the burner out, if it doesn't work scrap the burner part and use a grease zert with the bb removed for your gas inlet.

Wow . Thanks for the info.

I'm just wondering what kind of heat/output it's gonna have.

Has a lot to do with the regulator. Fill that pit with water and give it a go. Get a 0-60 PSI Regulator, or hook it straight to the tank. My uncle boils seafood 5-8 times a month, that's what he runs, a home made burner with a grease zerk and the hose connected straight to the bottle.

You think this would put out enough to boil my 120 qt. pot?

Should, may take a while, post a picture of the bottom to get a close up of the actual burner part, where the gas is coming of.

Exactly what that is.

I've made a couple in my time. Solid as hell but heavy as hell too.

Looks like an R-31 inside of an R-49 inside of an R-73, soft iron ovals of course

You right about that.

This thing is heavy.

I'm just wondering what kind of heat it's gonna put out.

Whatever heat it puts out, it should hold for a while. Don't think you are gonna pick that thing up and toss it in the storage room 10 minutes after you shut it off.

I'm talking BTU's. In other words, i'm wondering if i'm going to be able to get a big pot up to a rolling boil with this thing without waiting forever.
