re: Portico's ain't gonna last

I ate at the one in Ruston quite a few times when working up there, though I went for the NOLA on tap, not really the food.

Ok food. The bartender always knew that I wanted a bunch of red pepper shook on top my burger. They did that, and I was content.

If you go strictly for the meal, you'll be disappointed.

I was hoping the food would be as least as good as Applebee's...If the owners don't give a shite about the food and basically just want bar patrons ordering burgers & nachos with their beer than they should at least put in a golden tee, air hockey, shuffleboard & darts.

aka a smokeless fox & hound in southeast baton rouge..that's what i want. then i could easily deal with crappy food.

like i said earlier, i have only had a handful of things off of the menu, but the food i have had is far better than applebee's .. it is better than walk on's too ..

it is, otis .. at least the dishes that i have had .. people on here just love to rush to restaurants days after they open, when they are working out the kinks and getting their sea legs under them, and report their "horrible" experiences back on here .. some of the detailed complaints i have read just made me think, "so the frick what ?" .. i mean, shite like the mac and cheese is bland .. HUH ??? i have never gotten seasoned mac and cheese anywhere, anyway .. season your own fricking mac and cheese ... it is just a side anyway ..

now, on the service end, i will say that while we are sitting at the bar, you do see people in the dining room from time to time craning their necks while 16 servers are leaning against the wall outside the kitchen .. someone's not playing task master in there at times ... if they don't want to work, cut them loose for the day .. personally, i think he has too many people in there on the payroll for a place that size ..
