Going Friday for a concert. Anyone know a good romantic place to take the wife for dinner?

Thanks!

Don't care about price. What would you recommend? We like it all.

A lot of that shite from the previous thread is worthless.

No reason to go to Kerby Lane or Magnolia or any of those breakfast places. Waffle house is just as good with better service.

Uchi is great sushi, but be prepared to wait for two hours to get a table. I suggest Vespaio, Guereo's, Maudie's, Z Tejas, Cisco's, Ranch 616, or Corazon.

Jeffrey's. (Although it's one of only two upscale Austin restaurants I've been too. )

I've never had problems with the service and the food has always been great...breakfast and lunch.

I was just there a couple of months ago and waited 10 minutes.

I don't have problems with them either. I just don't think they are anything special. Quite a few people around here make them out to be the best breakfast places ever. FWIW I would head to the east side for either Cisco's or Juan in a Million's breakfast.

You must not have gone on the weekend. I've been three times on either Fridays or Saturdays and if you don't have reservations its two hours minimum. At least that's been my experience.

saturday night....but waiting at a sushi place is expected since most don't take reservations.

For breakfast tacos maybe...although that place off Oltorf and S. Congress (its hidden) is better IMO.

I'm going to skip the sushi but the other suggestions look great. Looking forward to it.
My wife and I went to the Oasis back before it burned I believe. I heard it's not as good now.

the food a the oasis now isn't as good and it is a little more expensive, but the restaurant itself is still badass and very nice since it burned.

I'm looking for a good place (to eat) that isnt too ultra cool or too super dressy. Somewhat dressy is fine, but I'll be on a trip with friends, and i want to just enjoy the meal without not feeling comfortable being there.
