Fathead's for great sandwiches and a great tap list. And to watch a game.

Pizzaiolo or something like that.

Butcher and the Rye is really great.

I'm from Pitt --- I definitely recommend Meat and Potatoes; definitely get the grilled bread (it's like 2 bucks). A couple months back I had the wild boar sloppy joe and it was stellar. Fried chicken and biscuits with coffee-bacon jam is also legit. Primantis is what it is: a big filling sandwich that is incredibly bland. I like it, but it's missing something, like a special sauce. If they had Canes sauce on their sandwiches they'd be awesome. For pizza you can try Beto's (raw toppings -- surprisingly good) or my personal favorites located not far from the airport in Coraopolis: Pizza Plaza, Pizzeria, or Sauce Pot. They all use a thick Sicilian dough from Mancini's Bakery (a Pittsburgh favorite). The Strip District is full of great places; be sure to get a fish sandwich from Wholey's -- best I've ever had. Fatheads has a great beer selection and some really creative sandwiches.

Primanti is overrated. Go to Alla Famiglia, some of the best italian I've had anywhere.

Gaucho Parilla

My last business trip to the Burgh, my friend took me here. Great food and BYOB. Take a couple bottles of a good Malbec and enjoy the feast.
